Are you a startup working in Vietnam and aiming for global success? If the answer is YES, then this great opportunity can be yours: A free trip to Finland this November to attend one of the biggest entrepreneurship events in the world, Slush. IPP2 will give out sponsorship to the winning startups from three major pitching events in Vietnam to attend the Slush 2016 conference in Finland.
The awarded startups will join a Vietnamese Slush 2016 delegation of about 40 companies, investors and ecosystem developers, which will be supported by IPP2 and its partners. Details for joining the delegation will be published over the summer months. Partners and co-sponsors for the visit to Slush 2016 and further Slush related efforts in Vietnam are being sought.
Slush is one of the world’s leading startup conferences, a focal point for startups and tech talent to meet with top-tier international investors and media. In previous years, the event has attracted more than 15,000 attendees and 1,700 startups. Together with 800 investors and 700 journalists from more than 100 countries all came to Helsinki during the snowy November in 2015 to join one of the most exciting gathering in the world, full of entrepreneurs, startups, tech heads, investors and media.
Slush is an increasingly global movement originally founded to change attitudes towards entrepreneurship. Slush is now expanding its activities globally with a focus on the ASEAN area. This offers Vietnam a great opportunity to fully join the movement. In 2015, Slush was organized in Tokyo and Beijing for the first time. In 2016, Slush is spreading to Tokyo, Shanghai and Singapore. Wouldn’t Slush Vietnam 2017 sound great?
With the goal of connecting and promoting Vietnamese startups to the Slush movement and to international markets, peers and investors, IPP2 together with its partners. IPP will help to support a business delegation of around 40 companies, investors and ecosystem developers to attend the Slush conference in Finland. This is where Vietnam’s brightest and most promising startups will have the opportunity to participate the Slush 100 pitching competition on a world-class stage.
Details on joining the Vietnamese delegation to Slush will be announced over the summer months. IPP is currently looking for partners and co-sponsors to organise the visit and also build a network around future Vietnamese Slush activities. A smaller Vietnamese delegation is planned for Slush Singapore and Women in Tech, organised on September 20th and 21st.
The sponsorship package for Slush 2016 for six Vietnamese startups will be handed out as the top prize for the winners of pitching competitions at the following events: Techfest Vietnam, HATCH! Fair and Danang StartupFair 2016. Follow the selection procedures and open calls of the event organisers if you are interested to pitch at these events.
In fact, the first prize was handed out already at HATCH! Fair – IPP Midterm Demo in October 2015 to Beeketing, one of the companies in IPP’s portfolio. The second prize was awarded this month, in June! Thanks to their fantastic performance in the Da Nang Startupfair pitching competition, a startup called Antbuddy was selected by IPP’s representative to win the prize. As a result, AntBuddy will be granted sponsorship from IPP2 to visit Helsinki in November.
During our exchange with AntBuddy’s representative, Ms. Ha An, Product Development Manager, shared with us her team story so far and their experience in participating in the Da Nang Startupfair.
Tell us about Antbuddy:
Our team started with this idea about a year ago and since then our whole team has worked non-stop to develop and improve our product AntBuddy, which aims to provide a cloud-based solution with comprehensive support package to help businesses manage customer care & information.
AntBuddy will be an important tool to help businesses communicate and provide better customer care across multiple channels. From regular phones (via landline number or hotline 1900xxxx, 1800xxxx), to online website chat, to Facebook fanpage, to Skype. With AntBuddy, businesses won’t need to use too many different channels to reach out to their customer base anymore. Instead, we can take all the information from your different channels and merge them on an unified platform, which is AntBuddy. In addition, conversations with customers (chat, telephone) are saved on our system AntBuddy together with customer information for easy tracking and management.
AntBuddy supports multiple devices and platforms, from the web app, desktop app to mobile app on iOS and Android. Businesses can communicate with customers anywhere at anytime. As a result, AntBuddy can help businesses save on operating costs, time, improve performance and increase business customer satisfaction.
What are your thoughts on this year StartupFair? Have your team been to other similar events?
In our opinion, DNES incubator was very successful in organizing Danang Startup Fair 2016 at Grand Mercure on 18.06.2016. This is one of the very first Startup conferences to be debuted in Danang, and I think this is an important milestone for the city of Da Nang to become a national startup center, representing the aspirations of Da Nang’s people and government. For our team, the Startup Fair was a good opportunity to interact, meet and promote our products to potential customers, investors and at the same time share our experience in product development to the startup community of Da Nang.
Our group has been very fortunate to participate in many similar events locally and also abroad. In Vietnam, we have participated in Saigon Tech Fest (12/3), the largest technology fair in Ho Chi Minh City, then we were invited to pitch our ideas at the Innovation Fair (8/3), which was organized by the US consulate in order to promote and support young entrepreneurs. In addition, we won some big prize aboard and were sponsored to participate in “startup idea booth” this year Tech in Asia (12 – 13/4) in Singapore.
You have been sponsored by IPP this year for Slush delegation. What would you like to see and achieve during this visit?
Many thanks to IPP for giving us this wonderful prize! Attending Slush will open a new opportunity for us to learn about European markets. This is a chance for AntBuddy to meet and exchange with other Startups across the world, reaching out to investors as well as potential customers. Currently, we are focusing only on Vietnamese and Southeast Asian markets, due to our limited resources. However our participation in Slush might just provide us with the needed resource for us to expand into the European market. For the next 5 months, we will continue our efforts to prepare and improve the infrastructure for our product, keeping us ready for new opportunities. We are excited and looking forward to the event.
Thank you for taking the time to share with us.
