PARTNERSHIP FOR INNOVATION

 

ASEAN Innovation Network:

This is an initiative by IPP2 to better facilitate innovation system and collaboration among the ASEAN countries. The first workshop of the ASEAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Developers Network titled “The role of universities in innovation ecosystems development” took place in Hochiminh city on 9, 10 December with 60 participants from 07 countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. The event has brought about a panorama of the current regional ecosystem development status, practice and a variety of practical experiences and learnings in fostering and strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems. The next steps are to develop and implement a cooperation program for innovation and entrepreneurship support of the ASEAN region.

 

INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

 

Policy support:

IPP2’s is supporting four Vietnam’s governmental agencies including (1) The National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (NATEC), (2) Department of Technology Appraisal, Examination and Assessment, (3) National Institute for Science and Technology Policy and Strategy Studies (NISTPASS), and (4) the National Office of Intellectual Property. Our goal is to support the development of innovation policies on a national level, with the following focus:

 

  1. Encouraging Policies for Venture capital establishment;
  2. Development of the Innovative Startup ecosystem in Vietnam
  3. Amending and updating Law on Technology Transfer;
  4. National Intellectual Property Action Plan.

 

To achieve these goals, IPP2 provides extensive soft support through a variety of capacity building activities. Senior international experts, advisors are invited to work with responsible governmental agencies, bringing in international knowledge and experiences to develop further the local innovation policies and best practices. In addition, IPP2 also facilitates the international cooperation and partnership development for relevant MOST agencies.
