40 Vietnamese Startups and Enablers heading to Finland for SLUSH 2016

The Vietnamese delegation to Slush 2016 comprises of around 40 leading startups, ecosystem builders and startup supporters. This marks the third year in a row that a Vietnamese Delegation is joining Slush. The HATCH Program coordinates the visit this year together with the support of the Vietnam – Finland Innovation Partnership Programme (IPP2).

Slush is the world’s leading event on startups and technology that brings together founders and tech talent to meet with top-tier international investors and executives. Last year, Slush attracted 15,000 participants including nearly 1,700 startups, 770 investors and 250 VC funds. This year, Slush takes place from November 30 to December 1, 2016 in Helsinki, Finland. Slush has recently organised its first event in Southeast Asia, Slush Singapore in September, and is increasingly interested to explore the market, also Vietnam and its booming startup scene.

IPP2 has granted full sponsorship packages to 4 startups to join Slush. These are the winning teams from local startup competitions Danang Startup Fair 2016 and HATCH! Fair 2015 & 2016. In addition, 13 startup entrepreneurs receive a smaller sponsorship to join Slush 2016.

IPP is also involving the leading community builders and public startup support organisations to build meaningful connections and strategic partnerships with Finnish counterparts.

Supporting partners of the delegation in Vietnam include Ho Chi Minh City government and Danang city government, Topica Founder Institute in Hanoi; and in Finland the Tekes BEAM Program and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. Delegation services in Finland are provided by GoInternational Finland.

At Slush 2016, the Vietnamese delegates will have precious opportunities of meeting investors and VC funds. They can also access state-of-the-art technologies, update with the latest technology trends of the world, connect to the world’s best startups and introduce Vietnam to the world.
